The Law Committee provides legal support to the substantive committees of the City Club, considers the legal integrity and consistency of proposed legislation and land use projects with City Club policy objectives, engages in litigation when necessary to prevent misuse of land use laws and regulations, and participates in screening panels for judicial candidates. Through its legal analysis and advocacy efforts, the committee supports the principles of sound urban planning and design, historic preservation, fairness, and accountability in urban policy making and governance.
