All-Maritime Alternative for BMT Redevelopment

The City Club of New York’s October 2026 report updates its vision for a Blue Highway Hub at Brooklyn Marine Terminal. This companion to the February 9 report refines the all-maritime alternative for the 122-acre waterfront site.

The updated vision includes revised plans for Piers 7–9B, a waterborne freight distribution network, logistics and cold-storage facilities, renewable energy, and flood resilience. The report also examines environmental benefits and a proposed public-private financing approach.
